This is a two-module workshop. Module One is 2 hours and focuses on nutrition. Module Two is 2 hours and focuses on physical activity. This workshop will familiarize participants with the Let's Move! Childcare Best Practices for improving food choices, providing healthy beverages, increasing physical activity, reducing screen time and supporting breastfeedbing to prevent childhood obesity. The Let's Move Childcare Checklist Quiz will be provided as a tool for programs to assess their own practices and evaluate their strengths and areas of needed improvement. Participants will engage in lively hands on activities and discussions to improve the five target areas. Participants will receive sample policies for Early Care and Education centers. There are local eateries in the area. Lunch is on your own. Parking is in the adjacent lot. |
